The use of International Normalized Ratio (INR) instead of Prothrombin Time results to control warfarin dosing is strongly recommended. Prothrombin Time results can vary three-fold depending on the reagent used; INR corrects for this and substantially improves safety and efficacy of warfarin therapy.
